Job Description

Role SummaryThe Quality Inspector - Mechanical is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical works—including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and mechanical equipment installations—are executed in full compliance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, and project quality procedures. The role involves daily site inspections, reviewing material and work inspection requests, and coordinating with engineers and contractors to maintain the highest standards of mechanical quality and safety on-site.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct daily inspections to ensure mechanical works follow approved ITPs, checklists, and project requirementsProactively identify deficiencies, non-compliance, or faults in mechanical installations and report them immediately to the QC Manager for corrective actionsClose all WIRs (Work Inspection Requests) and MIRs (Material Inspection Requests) after obtaining proper signatures and ensuring supporting documentation is completeThoroughly review project specifications, mechanical drawings, PQP, ITPs, method statements, QC procedures, and related quality documentsWitness and document testing of mechanical systems (e.g., pressure tests, leakage tests, functional testing) and complete relevant formsMonitor contractor practices related to mechanical quality control and safety complianceConduct daily meetings with the contractor's QC representative to ensure alignment with mechanical quality management proceduresAssist the construction team in resolving mechanical quality issues and technical challengesSupport the Quality Manager (QM) in preparing and conducting mechanical-related quality auditsPrepare daily QC reports and submit them to the QC Manager no later than 9:00 AM the following dayVerify that all mechanical testing tools and devices have valid calibration certificatesReview and maintain logs of WIRs, MIRs, MARs, NCRs, and other mechanical quality documentationHighlight and report any mechanical miscoordination issues between disciplines to the Resident Engineer (RE) and Quality Manager (QM)Qualifications & Requirements5-10 years of mechanical inspection experience, preferably in a PMC (Project Management Consultancy) environmentBachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical disciplineStrong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, mechanical utilities, and equipment installationAbility to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and method statementsSolid knowledge of international mechanical codes and standardsStrong documentation, reporting, and communication skillsProactive, detail-oriented, and capable of resolving technical issues efficiently#J-18808-Ljbffr
