Job SummaryThe Products Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Cards is responsible for providing deep functional and domain expertise across card products, including credit, debit, and prepaid cards. The role supports product development, operations, technology, compliance, and business teams by ensuring product accuracy, regulatory compliance, operational readiness, and seamless execution across the card lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Expertise & OwnershipAct as the subject matter expert for card products (credit, debit, prepaid), covering features, pricing, billing, rewards, disputes, chargebacks, and lifecycle managementProvide expert guidance on card product structures, customer journeys, and end-to-end processesSupport product managers with product enhancements, launches, and ongoing optimizationStakeholder CollaborationPartner with Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, and Customer Service teamsTranslate business requirements into functional specifications and support system implementationsServe as the key point of contact for resolving complex product or process-related issuesCompliance & Risk ManagementEnsure card products comply with regulatory requirements, network rules (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, Amex, etc.), and internal policiesSupport audits, regulatory reviews, and issue remediation related to card productsMonitor product risks, customer complaints, and operational incidentsProduct Lifecycle & Change ManagementSupport end-to-end product lifecycle including onboarding, issuance, usage, billing, disputes, renewals, upgrades, and closuresLead or support change initiatives such as pricing updates, rule changes, system upgrades, and new feature rolloutsConduct impact assessments and readiness reviews for product changesData, Insights & PerformanceAnalyze product performance, customer behavior, and operational metricsIdentify opportunities to improve customer experience, profitability, and operational efficiencySupport development of dashboards, MIS, and management reportingTraining & Knowledge EnablementAct as a knowledge resource for internal teams on card product features and processesSupport development of training materials, SOPs, FAQs, and job aidsConduct product training sessions for business and support teamsKey Skills & CompetenciesStrong domain expertise in card products and paymentsIn-depth understanding of card lifecycle, billing, disputes, chargebacks, and settlementsKnowledge of card network rules and regulatory requirementsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilitiesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or related field5–8+ years of experience in cards product management, cards operations, or payments domainHands-on experience with card management systems and payment platformsPreferred ExperienceExperience working with card networks (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, Amex)Exposure to digital payments, tokenization, contactless, or wallet integrationsExperience in banking, fintech, or payment service providers#J-18808-Ljbffr
