Marine Underwriter

We are seeking an experienced and strategic AM/Senior Underwriter specializing in Marine to manage and enhance our underwriting operations. The successful candidate will lead underwriting activities for marine cargo, hull, yacht, marine liability, plant and equipment, and freight liability.Major duties and responsibilitiesEvaluate and underwrite risks related to marine cargo, yacht, hull, marine liability, and other specialty lines in accordance with company guidelines and policies.Develop and execute strategies to achieve profitable growth, optimize portfolio performance, and ensure competitiveness within the marine and specialty insurance markets.Provide expert advice and solutions to intermediaries, clients, and internal stakeholders on complex underwriting matters.Regularly analyze market trends, monitor portfolio performance, and proactively adjust underwriting strategies.Collaborate effectively with sales, claims, product development, and operations teams to provide comprehensive insurance solutions.Ensure strict compliance with regulatory requirements and internal underwriting standards.Mentor junior underwriters, enhancing their technical knowledge and professional capabilities through ongoing training and supportPre-requisiteStrong analytical, decision-making, and strategic planning skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for effective relationship management.Proven capability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Thorough understanding of marine and specialty insurance markets and regulatory requirements.High degree of integrity, professionalism, and customer-oriented mindset.Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally, clearly, and strategically, employing measured negotiation skills.Bachelor's in any discipline with ACII (preferred)Minimum 5 years of experience in Marine UW is a must.#J-18808-Ljbffr
