Librarian

LibrarianThe Dubai Public Library is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection, providing research assistance to library patrons, and developing and implementing educational programs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for literature and knowledge, excellent communication skills, and experience working in a library setting.Responsibilities:- Manage the library's collection by organizing, cataloging, and shelving materials- Provide research assistance to library patrons by helping them locate resources and providing information- Develop and implement educational programs for children and adults, including story times, book clubs, and workshops- Maintain accurate records of library transactions- Create displays to promote new books or resources- Keep up-to-date with new books and materials in order to make recommendations to patrons- Assist with administrative tasks such as ordering supplies and maintaining equipmentRequirements:- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail- Proficient in English (knowledge of Malayalam is a plus)- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team- Familiarity with biometric passport systems is preferredThis is a contract position with a salary of $1200 per month. The ideal candidate will be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
