Lead, IT Network Engineer - UAE national

To provide operational support for TAQA IT Infrastructure services, such as Office LAN & WAN setup, Cisco Wireless, Cisco IP telephony, Network security, Azure Cloud Services, Virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware), Windows Servers and Clients.To adhere to and help develop system standards, develop and update service design documents, monitoring the system availability and resilience as within agreed SLA’s with the business.General ResponsibilitiesPolicy, Procedures, Process and SystemsEnsure the compliance of organization's policy, systems, processes, procedures and controls in line with group delegation of authority policy so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements are fulfilled while consistently delivering quality and cost-effective service.ReportingEnsure that all reports are completed timely and comply with HQ and business policies and standards.Provide support in the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the business senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making.Comply with organization requirements in a timely manner.Job Specific ResponsibilitiesNetwork Operations and MaintenanceManage the day-to-day operation, performance and stability of the organization’s LAN, WAN and wireless infrastructure.Monitor and troubleshoot network incidents, outages and performance degradations to ensure high service availability.Administer firewalls, VPNs, and network access control devices in compliance with corporate cybersecurity standards.Implement network security policies, including segmentation, intrusion prevention and access management.Conduct capacity planning and implement network optimization measures to maintain performance at scale.Oversee firmware and configuration updates for routers, switches and access points, ensuring vendor compliance.Maintain network documentation including diagrams, configuration records and inventory details.Network Design, Projects, and Continuous ImprovementDesign and deploy scalable network solutions for data centers, remote sites, and cloud environments (Azure, AWS).Lead the configuration and integration of network technologies supporting hybrid and cloud-based infrastructures.Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the design of secure connectivity solutions (SD-WAN, VPN, VLANs).Coordinate implementation of new technologies such as Azure Virtual Network and Fortinet/Cisco SD-WAN.Contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives, ensuring alignment with business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.Manage vendor relationships for network equipment and service providers, ensuring contractual SLA adherence.Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, tools and best practices for continuous improvement.Governance, Reporting and Technical ExpertisePrepare accurate network performance and incident reports for management and audit purposes.Ensure compliance with IT governance frameworks, security protocols, and industry standards.Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to IT support teams and junior engineers.Support internal audits, risk assessments, and cybersecurity evaluations related to network assetsParticipate in policy, process, and procedure reviews to enhance the sustainability and standardization of network operations.These responsibilities are representative and the role holder is also responsible for any other job, assigned by the superior authorities from time to time.Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalentCisco or Fortinet certifications (e.g., CCNP, NSE)6 years of experience in Information Technology or similar rolePreferred RequirementsMaster’s degree in IT, Computer Science or equivalentAWS or other Cloud Network certificationsServer and Desktop OS certificationsITIL Foundation or Project Management certification6+ years of experience in Information Technology or similar role#J-18808-Ljbffr
