Job Description

OverviewThe Health, Safety, Security and Environment Officer (HSSE Officer) is responsible for supporting the project by implementing safety and security measures, conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with HSSE regulations, and promoting a proactive safety culture across all project sites.ResponsibilitiesPerform awareness and Tool-Box-Talks as per the set plan to the project team.Conduct H&S inspections per the plan; ensure to capture and report findings as per the priorities category level.Report any unsafe practices of site personnel and get them corrected as soon as possible.Ensure that equipment issued are correctly used and properly maintained so that it presents no threat to health, safety or the environment.Ensure equipment and tools are well calibrated as per the manufacturer’s recommendations.Maintain safety equipment register and coordinate safety equipment maintenance.Oversee site security operations, including access control, surveillance systems (CCTV), and coordinating with security personnel to prevent unauthorized entry or theft.Ensure the availability, quality and the use of PPE by all concerned employees.Assist the HSSE Lead and HSE Supervisor in accident and incident investigations where required.Prepare recommendations for improving safety, security and health performance.Ensure that HSSE local legislations and regulations are updated and abided by.Reporting and documenting through video and pictures on any accident, incident, or dangerous occurrence to the Project Manager, HSSE Lead and/or HSE Supervisor.Raise observations about safety violations, Near Misses, misbehaviors, and PPE shortages; ensure they are logged and followed within the CAF system and local register.The employee is expected to be available and responsive to requests or inquiries related to his/her area of expertise and should not refuse any task related to his/her role and responsibilities.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field.OSHA or NEBOSH certification is a plus.Strong knowledge of HSSE standards, best practices, and local regulations.Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar HSSE role, preferably within facility management or construction.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.#J-18808-Ljbffr
