Job Description

Job PurposeOperates in a specialized, highly active and demanding credit environment, managing non-bank lending portfolios with various risk profiles, including Direct Lending, Asset Based Finance (ABF), Mezzanine, distressed and specialty finance using insights from industry sources.Shall be part of the transaction team framework and work alongside the Origination & Structuring team from the Bank in Private Credit space, in evaluating proposals for investments through Mashreq Capital Private Credit Fund.Recommend to the Investment Committee (IC) any proposal that meets the risk acceptance parameters of the Fund.Conducting financial / accounting/market due diligence for prospective Borrowers / Issuers (financial analysis, market analysis, rating reports, industry reports, trends in debt market, soft market circling) in the Private Credit space.Close coordination with various stakeholders (including relationship, operations, Investment Banking, Agency, Sharia team & Mashreq Capital) in the Term Sheet & documentation negotiation.Have the ability to conduct risk assessments of investment opportunities in areas outside Private Credit, under Mashreq Capital for new products like REITs.Key Result AreasThe KRAs serve as measurable objectives aligned with risk management, portfolio construction, and regulatory compliance, enhancing both alpha generation and capital preservation.Credit Risk Management – Set boundaries of risk tolerance, limit adherence, early warning and stress testing, covenant monitoring and recovery planning, portfolio diversification.Portfolio Performance & Risk Optimization – Risk adjusted return tracking, Credit selection and underwriting quality.Regulatory Compliance & Governance – Adherence to policies and approvals, reporting frameworks, implementation of DIFC guidelines and local regulations.Supporting in preparation of Investment Committee presentations.Stakeholder Communication and Reporting -Investor transparency, Internal liaison and Board engagement and compliance.In summary, effective credit selection, active portfolio surveillance, disciplined capital deployment and transparent reporting with the intent to drive loss avoidance, preserve investor confidence while enabling sustainable alpha generation in private credit space.Knowledge, Skills and Experience12-15 years or more experience in Investment Banking, Structured Finance (LAF) or Private Credit space ideally with an international financial institution or in one of the Private Credit platforms globally.Strong credit, knowledge of commercial and banking legal framework, presentation skills are necessary, in addition any experience in recovery and dealing in stressed assets will be valued.Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to perform as a team player.MBA / CAs preferred.
