General Manager - Transportation

This position is responsible for providing leadership, developing a strategy roadmap, and successful execution of the organization‘s business plan as per the vision and mission. Focus on defining the long term and short term business goals, identifing business growth opportunities, facilitate formulation of risk mitigation action plans, enhance people skills, cascade vision, values across the multiple business unit of Transportation, by maximizing synergies between various IFFCO units to achieve and attain prime market position, while maximizing profitability.Grow overall business performance in terms of Market Share, Sales (value + volume) and Profits.Develop and implement (after approval) the Business Plan and Annual Budget for the BU.Perform periodical business reviews against set and agreed targets to attain BU and 3P Up trip shipment forecasts in line with AOP.Develop and maintain contingency plans to address market and operational volatility.Drive efficiencies across all functions by maximizing own-fleet utilization, particularly Up Trip productivity, while minimizing dependency on hired vehicles.Ensure all 3PL customer rates remain above rate-card levelsExplore new business opportunities (markets).Lead 3P sales and contract management with large customers and logistics partners.Drive development of return-load customers in KSA & Oman markets.Maintain return load release within 12 hours, reducing idle and waiting time.Build strong engagement with key customers, logistics providers, and transporters.Gather and analyze market intelligence on competitors and transporter activity.Ensure 100% compliance with IFFCO policies and proceduresEnsure full compliance with customs regulations and applicable laws in all operating countries.Ensure the collection guidlines are adhered by Sales team.Monitor border performance through daily operational performance reports with the help of control room.Faciliate best in class controls and prodecurs along with Ops Manager to ensure highest score in all Stautory/Quality/Compliance Audits.Maintain zero theft and smuggling incidents across all transport activities.Oversee workshop planning and operations to ensure effective maintenance execution, timely job completion, and controlled rework rates.Control maintenance costs through periodic tracking against approved budgets and cost per vehicle.Lead diesel procurement strategy, adapting to dynamic market conditions to achieve competitive pricing and margin improvement.Improve workshop efficiency and reduce downtime to ensure maximum fleet availability.Control workshop OPEX spend and optimize CAPEX requirements.Build strong relationships with Corp Finance to provide best financing Financing options for Capital proposal.Engaging dialogue with Insurance team on annual renewals of various policies to ensure min cost increase is foreseen in business.SkillsDeep understanding of Cross Boarder operationsExperience in managing industrial contracts and B2B salesShould be able to read and interpret financial statement, balance sheet, related ratios and other performance metrics.#J-18808-Ljbffr
