General Accountant

The Group operates through multiple business units and subsidiaries, delivering integrated solutions supported by strong operational expertise and a well-established regional presence.Job Scope:Candidates should have a UAE experience in VAT compliance, import/export accounting, and customs clearing documentation. The ideal candidate will have prior exposure to a logistics, trading, or import/export environment and be capable of independently handling day-to-day accounting operations while coordinating closely with operations, logistics, and external parties.Key Responsibilities:Accounting & Financial OperationsMaintain accurate books of accounts in compliance with UAE accounting standardsRecord daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, expenses, accruals, and provisionsMaintain and regularly reconcile bank accounts, supplier balances, customer accounts, and intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.Support preparation of monthly management reports and schedulesVAT & Tax Compliance:Handle UAE VAT accounting for domestic and export transactionsPrepare VAT workings, reconciliations, and support VAT return filingEnsure correct VAT treatment for imports, exports, zero‑rated and exempt suppliesMaintain VAT documentation in line with FTA requirementsImport / Export & Customs Accounting:Review and record customs declarations, BOE, COO, commercial invoices, and packing listsEnsure proper accounting treatment of customs duty, import VAT, freight, insurance, and clearing chargesCoordinate with clearing agents and logistics teams to verify documentation and cost allocationsReconcile shipment‑related costs against supplier and freight invoicesPayables, Receivables & Controls:Process supplier invoices and initiate payments in accordance with approved terms and procedures.Issue customer invoices and follow up on receivables when requiredEnsure proper filing and documentation for audits and internal controlsAssist in external audits and respond to auditor queriesQualifications & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2–4 years of relevant accounting experiencePractical experience in VAT accounting and compliance in the UAEStrong exposure to import/export transactions and customs documentationPrevious experience in a logistics, trading, shipping, or distribution company is highly preferredKnowledge of UAE VAT Law and customs procedures is an advantageStrong attention to detail and accuracyGood understanding of shipment cost allocation and landed cost conceptsProficient in accounting software and Microsoft ExcelAbility to coordinate with operations, logistics, and external partiesGood communication and time‑management skillsAble to work independently with minimal supervision#J-18808-Ljbffr
