Job Description
OverviewThe Credit Control Team Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the credit control team to ensure efficient debt recovery and credit management processes. The role involves overseeing the team’s day-to-day operations, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The supervisor will monitor and reduce aged debt, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure timely cash collection to maintain healthy cash flow for the business.Your role as a Credit Control Team SupervisorSupervise and support the Senior Credit Controllers and team, ensuring performance targets are met.Lead and supervise debtor meetings and weekly collections discussions.Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and team reviews to track performance.Provide training, mentorship, and development opportunities to team members.Manage workloads and ensure even distribution across the team.Supervision of the month end billing and invoicing process.Manage and coordinate the team roster and employee utilization.Govern the expenses approvals process.Reporting & AnalysisPrepare and present regular reports on debtor balances, cash flow forecasts, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to line manager.Analyze customer payment trends and work with the finance team to address issues.Identify high risk accounts and escalate to management as required.Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with all internal policies and external regulations related to credit control and financial reporting.Conduct regular audits of credit control processes and documentation to ensure accuracy and adherence to guidelines.Monitor and manage the credit risk for the business, advising senior management on risk exposure.Debt Collection & Credit ManagementOversee the collection of outstanding legal and Dubai Chamber customer debts and minimize overdue payments.Monitor aged debt reports and prioritize collections based on risk and overdue balances.Ensure timely and effective communication with customers regarding overdue accounts.Implement credit policies and review credit limits for new and existing customers.Authorize account holds or releases in line with company policies.Govern the process and approvals of Credit Reference Checks.Ensure all breakdowns up to AED 5,000 are verified and approved.Customer Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with key customers to facilitate timely payment.Negotiate payment plans with customers in financial difficulty, ensuring company interests are protected.Resolve customer disputes in a professional and timely manner.Stakeholder EngagementWork closely with the sales and operations teams to resolve disputes and maintain positive customer relationships.Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile accounts and ensure accurate records.Act as a point of escalation for complex or high-value accounts before escalation to the Line Manager.Your personality makes a differenceCommunication and negotiation skillsAnalytical skillsSolution mindedFlexibilityExperienceMinimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in credit control or debt recovery, with at least 3+ years in a supervisory role.Strong knowledge of credit management principles and relevant financial regulations.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, Word, etc).Leadership: Ability to lead and inspire a team to meet targets and deadlines.Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.Negotiation: Expertise in resolving disputes and negotiating payment terms effectively.Analytical Thinking: Skill in analysing data and identifying trends to inform decision-making.Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in records and compliance with policies.Problem-solving: Proactive in addressing issues and implementing solutions.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.EducationBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.BenefitsBecome part of a dynamic team where you can make a real difference for our customers.
