Job Description

The role holder is responsible for actively participating in all aspects of transaction origination and execution of M&A Advisory (buy-side and sell-side transactions), and Equity Capital Markets transactions (eg IPOs, rights issues, block trades, follow-on offerings, etc.) in order to achieve P&L targets for Global M&A Advisory and ECM in line with GCF’s strategy and budget objectives. The role holder is also responsible for collaborating with other Client Service and Product teams to ensure superior service for the clients.Key AccountabilitiesClient Management and Business DevelopmentAssists and supports A&ECM’s Exec Directors and Directors in originating and executing various M&A advisory and equity capital market transactions with a primary focus on EgyptManages certain aspects of transaction execution as determined by the relevant transaction leaderEnsures that appropriate reviews (financial, legal, risk, compliance, etc.) are undertaken, and due diligence completed, on all transactions consideredDrafts and prepares marketing presentations, pitch materials, books, information memoranda, investor profiles on a timely basisPrepares sophisticated financial models relevant to the origination and execution work undertakenShows a keen interest in M&A / equity capital markets / macro environment, which can be used when assessing potential transactionsWorks closely with other IB&M teams to maximise the revenue wallet on each transactionWorks closely with the relevant Client Coverage team to guarantee the highest quality of service to FAB clientsIntroduces international best practices and corporate finance standards materialsPolicies, Systems, Processes, and ProceduresComplies with departmental policies, systems, and procedure so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality and cost-effective serviceContributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices, whilst taking into account international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvementMIS and ReportsN/A unless requested by Line ManagerSelf-Management ResponsibilitiesDefines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the course of the yearIdentifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with the reporting manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attendedStrives to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all the competencies and skills required to perform the roleKeeps abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growthKey Performance IndicatorsGCF and Global M&A Advisory and ECM budgetsLeague table positionsNumber of ideas pitched to FAB clients where the individual assistedNumber of transactional areas where the individual took responsibilityMinimum QualificationBachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce or any related discipline.Minimum Experience5 – 10 years’ experience in a corporate finance / M&A / ECM environmentAdvanced knowledge of and proficiency in (i) analysizing company financial statement, and (ii) company valuation techniquesAdvanced understanding and knowledge of stock technical trading is a plusRecent work experience with exposure to transaction origination and executionTraining or time spent in a recognisable investment bank in either London, New York, Singapore or Hong Kong will be looked at favourablySkillsExcellent and professional written and verbal communication skills in English (with Arabic a plus)Strong organisational and project management skillsAbility to work under pressure, long and uncomfortable hours, adjust quickly to changing priorities and deliver on a timely basisHighly proficient with the full Microsoft Office product suite (especially PowerPoint and Excel)Demonstrate willingness and ability to adapt technologically, including with regards to AI adoptionWillingness to learn / develop additional skills, and ability to take guidance from seniors and put it into practiceAbility to build and develop work relationships (internal and external)Sound judgment of risk and opportunity at current career stage.#J-18808-Ljbffr
