Controller - Regional Headquarters

OverviewWe are looking for a Controller for a recently established Regional Headquarters to join our team and lead the accounting function in our Saudi Arabia Regional Headquarters. In this position you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with local GAAP, laws, and regulations. This role will work closely with the Accounting, Treasury, and Tax teams in the United States and with our offices located in the Middle East and African regions to ensure proper accounting operations, management reporting and external reporting activities.This position is located at our regional headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.ResponsibilitiesOwnership of the month and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial statements and compliance with local GAAP, laws, and regulationsEnsure quality control over financial transactions, financial reporting, and monthly allocationsSupport local treasury and tax activities to ensure adherence to local compliance requirementsDevelop and maintain accounting policies and procedures and ensure adherence to best practicesCollaborate with the Corporate Finance team on a regular basis to communicate events and transactions that may impact results and forecasts including short range outlooks, annual and long-range plan development processesSupport operational areas that have a direct impact on international accounting activities such as AP, Assets, and other accounting transactional functions for entities under assigned responsibilityRequirements12+ years of progressive experience and at least 3+ years of management experienceStrong knowledge of Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and financial consolidationProficient with regular accounting practices and the ability to prepare and analyze financial statementsStrong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlinesExcellent Arabic and English verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex accounting issues to various levels of the organizationAbility to develop strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needsBachelor's degree in AccountingRecommended QualificationsCertified Public Accountant or equivalentProficient in Microsoft Excel and large ERP systems, preferably SAPAbout EsriAt Esri, diversity is more than just a word on a map.
