Commodity Manager Indirect & Logistics

Job DescriptionBrief Job Description: The Indirect & Logistics Commodity Manager will be responsible for driving the identification and execution of category plans and strategic sourcing initiatives through their assigned categories of RAK Indirect and Logistics spend totaling $20-40M. This regional position will at times work with Global Procurement Indirect/Logistics team members in a matrixed environment. This role will primarily support the Americas region but is expected to work with global and regional teams as appropriate to share best practices and standardize global processes where applicable.ResponsibilitiesEstablishing, leading, and supporting cross functional category teams to develop and maintain Category Strategies within their assigned regional Indirect categories, Ocean transportation, air transportation, and parcel transportation.Is responsible for long term planning, strategy development, and support continuous improvement of assigned spend categories.Develops and implements sourcing, negotiating and contracting strategies to achieve the desired outcomes aligned with the Category Strategy for global indirect procurement categories.Directs cross-functional teams using analysis of historical spend data, market research and cost modeling to identify and leverage high value opportunities that deliver innovative and sustainable value, operational efficiencies, and risk mitigation to the business.Establishes total landed cost model and/or Total Cost of Ownership Model for the category, in alignment with stakeholders.Demonstrates improvement in cost, cash flow, quality and risk related to assigned categories of Indirect spendSupports dotted line / matrixed global Indirect Procurement associates when collaboration is required.Provides leadership to key stakeholders throughout the company and builds relationships that facilitate the realization of delivering strategic and financial value.Categories and set up procurement process and contract for the indirect commodities.Manages the preferred supplier program with a \"plan for every partner\" to ensure business continuity, performance and best price.The Indirect Americas Category Manager will manage their assigned Indirect Categories as an owner. This will involve working closely with value stream partners to improve performance and cost. Done well, this work will reduce the friction felt by customers and make Vertiv \"easier to do business with\".Minimum Job QualificationsBS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related area.Prefer a minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement/sourcing/supply chain/logistics operations.CPSM, CLTD, CSCP, PMP, or equivalent certification(s) preferred.Preferred QualificationsExperience sourcing, negotiating, and contracting for capex. indirect and transportation services highly preferredExperience leading Logistics cost reduction or continuous improvement projects preferredEducation And CertificationsBS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related area.Physical RequirementsNo Special Physical RequirementsEnvironmental DemandsNo Specific Environmental Demands - Office and Manufacturing FacilitiesTravel Time Required10%About the TeamWork AuthorizationNo calls or agencies please.
