Job Description

ISTL Energy is looking for a highly motivated and entrepreneurial Business Development Engineer – Solar to drive growth in the UAE solar market.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with solar EPCs or developers, a strong technical understanding of solar PV systems, and proven ability to generate leads, close deals, and manage client relationships in Residential and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) segments.This role requires a self-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes ownership of business outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and develop new business opportunities in Residential and C&I solar projectsGenerate leads through field visits, networking, cold calling, referrals, and partnershipsConduct client meetings, site visits, and preliminary technical assessmentsPrepare proposals, quotations, and technical-commercial offersCoordinate with engineering and operations teams for project feasibility and executionNegotiate contracts and close sales dealsBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and developersTrack sales pipeline and maintain CRM recordsStay updated on UAE solar regulations (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, Net Metering policies)Represent ISTL Energy in exhibitions, industry events, and client meetingsAchieve monthly and quarterly sales targetsCandidate RequirementsEducation & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical / Renewable Energy / Mechanical preferred)Minimum 2–5 years of experience in business development or sales with a solar EPC or solar developer in UAEProven experience in Residential and C&I solar projectsStrong understanding of solar PV system design, components, and commercial modelsMandatory:Currently based in Dubai / UAEValid UAE driving licenseExperience working with solar EPCs or developersWillingness to travel for client meetings and site visitsStrong communication and negotiation skillsEntrepreneurial mindset – thinks like a business owner, not just an employeeHighly self-motivated and target-drivenAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionGood presentation and proposal-writing skillsTechno-commercial understanding of solar projectsNetworking and relationship-building abilityOrganized, disciplined, and results-focusedPersonality & Mindset (very important for ISTL Energy)We are looking for someone who is:Hungry to grow with the companyProactive and street-smartComfortable with uncertainty and challengesWilling to go beyond job descriptionPassionate about renewable energyResilient and persistent in sales cyclesHas an entrepreneurial attitude and ownership mentalityWhat we offerCompetitive salary + performance-based incentivesOpportunity to grow into a senior leadership roleExposure to large solar projects and strategic clientsDynamic startup-like environment with fast learning curveLong-term career growth with ISTL EnergyPreferred (added advantage)Existing network in UAE solar / real estate / industrial sectorExperience with DEWA Shams Dubai, ADDC, or other utility approvalsKnowledge of PPA, CAPEX, and OPEX business models#J-18808-Ljbffr
