OverviewJob Title: Assistant / Associate Professor in Clinical PharmacyCollege: College of Pharmacy and Health SciencesThe Assistant / Associate Professor in Clinical Pharmacy develops and delivers courses within the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program, with a focus on patient-centered care, pharmacotherapy, and professional practice skills. This role emphasizes excellence in teaching, scholarly activity, and service while assessing student performance, managing instructional resources, and supporting accreditation and quality assurance initiatives. The position contributes to the University’s mission by advancing pharmacy education, research, and community engagement in healthcare practice.ResponsibilitiesDesigns, develops, and delivers engaging courses in clinical pharmacy, pharmacotherapy, and pharmacy practice within the PharmD curriculum, aligned with the University’s core pillars: Teaching, Research, and Community Service.Facilitates experiential learning, skills laboratories, simulations, and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) to enhance clinical competence.Assesses student performance, provides constructive feedback, and mentors students to support academic, professional, and clinical development.Develops course materials, syllabi, instructional resources, and clinical teaching tools to optimize learning outcomes.Integrates innovative teaching methodologies and educational technologies to enhance student engagement and learning effectiveness.Participates in accreditation, assessment, and institutional quality assurance activities related to the PharmD program.Engages in scholarly activities, including research, publication, and supervision of student projects, as appropriate.Undertakes additional duties as assigned to support departmental, college, and university objectives.Qualifications & ExperienceDoctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree plus residency training, from a reputable, accredited university or a PhD in Clinical Pharmacy/Pharmacy Practice plus Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.Graduation from an institution using the credit-hour system, with English as the primary language of instruction.Professional licensure in pharmacy (or licensure eligibility) is preferred.At least two years of relevant teaching experience, demonstrated ability to teach clinical pharmacy or pharmacotherapy courses at the undergraduate or professional level.Proficiency in the use of educational technologies, including learning management systems, presentation software, simulation tools, and digital assessment platforms.Candidates with postgraduate training (e.g., residency, fellowship), clinical practice experience, research productivity and peer-reviewed publications.Knowledge & SkillsStrong verbal and written communication skills in English.Effective presentation, facilitation, and instructional design skills.Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary and multicultural academic environments.Competence in developing, reviewing, and managing academic and clinical educational content.Strong organizational, planning, and evaluation skills related to academic programs.Familiarity with student information systems, accreditation standards, and pharmacy education technologies.Working ConditionsWork is performed in classrooms, skills laboratories, offices, and affiliated clinical or experiential training sites.May require standing for extended periods during lectures, simulations, or laboratory sessions.Regular use of computers, simulation equipment, audiovisual systems, and educational technologies in accordance with institutional safety and operational policies.SupervisionReports to: Head of Department or Dean of the CollegeSubordinates: N/A#J-18808-Ljbffr
