Architectural Design Reviewer

JOB SUMMARYThe Architectural Design Reviewer will be responsible for reviewing architectural design submissions and development proposals to ensure compliance with approved design guidelines, applicable codes, and regulatory standards. The role involves evaluating architectural projects, providing technical feedback, and supporting the design review process to ensure high-quality development outcomes. The position requires a proactive approach in assessing design proposals, coordinating with internal studio teams and project stakeholders, and ensuring that architectural developments align with established regulatory frameworks, design standards, and architectural identity objectives.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESRepresent the Client (Governmental Authority) and act as part of the regulatory review process.Review architectural design submissions and project transmittals in accordance with approved Architecture Codes and Design Guidelines.Develop and implement a review methodology based on approved codes, regulations, and design standards.Evaluate architectural proposals to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, guidelines, and development standards.Provide technical comments and design recommendations to consultants, developers, and project stakeholders.Conduct site visits to monitor implementation of design review comments and approved requirements.Engage with Studio team members in developing review templates, checklists, and evaluation procedures.Review architectural drawings, reports, and technical documents submitted for approval.Coordinate with Studio team members to ensure consistency and quality in the review process.Communicate with the Governmental Authority regarding review findings, design compliance, and recommendations.Communicate with project stakeholders including developers, architects, consultants, and engineers regarding review comments and design improvements.Ensure that all reviews are conducted in accordance with approved guidelines, codes, and regulatory standards.Support the improvement of architectural review procedures and internal review standards.Complete other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.COMMUNICATIONWITHIN THE COMPANYCommunicates with Studio team members and internal departments regarding project review coordination, technical requirements, and review progress.EXTERNALCommunicates with the Governmental Authority, developers, architects, consultants, and other project stakeholders regarding design submissions, review comments, and compliance with applicable codes and guidelines.JOB SPECIFICATIONSEXPERIENCEMinimum 8 years of professional experience in architectural design, architectural review, or related fields.Experience related to architectural identity research or design is preferred.Experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia is an advantage.EDUCATIONBachelor’s degree in Architecture.Fluency in English, both written and spoken.SPECIAL FACTORS / COMPETENCIESStrong knowledge of Saudi Building Codes (SBC) and architectural regulations.Ability to review and evaluate architectural designs for compliance with guidelines and standards.Good communication skills; verbal and written.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and coordinate with different stakeholders.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Attention to detail and strong technical review capability.ABOUT THE COMPANYAbout the CompanyWHY JOIN DAOYou’ll be part of a diverse, multidisciplinary international team committed to design excellence and high-quality project delivery.
