Once the candidate has successfully integrated with the IT team, project team and the project, there is an opportunity for the position to move into a hybrid role.Position DescriptionResponsible for rewriting a legacy application and serving as a technical expert for the Department’s Watercraft software applications.Develop new applications to meet functional and technical designs.Fix and develop changes to applications following best practices and development standards and guidelines.Analyze and resolve issues in applications, proactively solving complex problems. Support production systems; analyze and resolve production problems in a timely manner; resolve end user service requests as assigned.Complete unit and system test application changes to ensure system integrity.Engage with business analysts and stakeholders to understand functional requirements and contribute to the completion of functional specifications.Prepare technical documentation on application specifications, project documentation, functional and technical specifications, use cases, test cases, and system documentation. Perform other duties as assigned.Skills RequiredConsiderable working knowledge of multiple programming languages.Considerable experience with multiple database management systems, specifically MSSQL, and multiple development platforms; includes designing and developing web tools.Familiar or working knowledge of AWS products and services.Experience working in an Agile work environment.Strong customer service, interpersonal, written and oral communication, virtual communication, critical thinking.Highly organized to handle multiple project sprints and deadlines; create project workflows and timelines; project based budgeting.Skill in producing efficient, reusable/standardized code; testing and deploying applications; evaluating performance and security of new and existing applications.Ability to balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks; work collaboratively across organizations; synthesize feedback and adjust plans; quickly learn new programming languages & APIs. Demonstrate ability to work independently through a project management team.Skills PreferredMSSQL, SQL Server, C#, MVC, .Net Core, Linux, GitLab, gRpc and/or WCF, Informix, T4 Templates, Redis, AWS ElastiCache, Asana project management, integrating printers into web applications and backend processes, SSRS for reporting, Dashboard creation, LDAP, AWS Cognito authentication.Work Experience Required5 or more years of programming and analysis experience (or equivalent).Minimum of 3 years of experience in .NET web-based systems.
