Job Description

UltaHost, a global hosting provider serving thousands of customers worldwide, is seeking an experienced Abuse & Compliance Manager to strengthen and lead our abuse handling and regulatory compliance operations.This role is critical in safeguarding our infrastructure, ensuring legal adherence, and maintaining a secure and trustworthy hosting environment. You will manage abuse investigations, legal requests, and communication with both customers and official authorities.Key ResponsibilitiesReview, investigate, and resolve all abuse reports including phishing, spam, malware, botnet activity, port scanning, DDoS attacks, and illegal contentProcess and respond to DMCA takedown requests, copyright complaints, and inquiries from law enforcement in accordance with company policies and legal requirementsHandle requests, investigations, and inquiries issued by official authorities (such as regulatory bodies, courts, and law enforcement agencies) and ensure timely, accurate, and complete responsesCollaborate with system administrators and security teams to mitigate abusive activity and secure compromised servicesAnalyze recurring or critical abuse patterns, document findings, and escalate them to management when necessaryCommunicate clearly, professionally, and objectively with customers regarding abuse investigations and required actionsContinuously monitor IP reputation and blacklist status, coordinating with internal teams to maintain clean and trusted network rangesEnsure all actions, decisions, and communications are properly documented in compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal audit standardsContribute to the development and improvement of abuse-handling workflows, internal guidelines, and response templatesProvide support during internal and external audits, regulatory assessments, and compliance reviewsRequirements4+ years of experience in abuse handling, hosting support, cybersecurity operations, or a related fieldStrong understanding of abuse types specific to hosting environments (VPS, Dedicated, Shared Hosting, etc.)Expertise in identifying and analyzing phishing, spam, malware, botnet behavior, DDoS indicators, and scanning activityKnowledge of DMCA regulations, data protection laws, and international compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)Proficiency in email header analysis, WHOIS lookups, IP log investigation, and abuse management toolsExcellent written English communication and documentation skillsAbility to work independently, stay objective during sensitive cases, and thrive under pressureNice to HaveExperience with abuse automation platforms (AbuseHQ, Abuse.io, WHMCS-based tools, etc.)Basic Linux command-line and networking knowledgeFamiliarity with ticketing systems and internal case management platformsBackground in security operations, Trust & Safety, or compliance/legal processes#J-18808-Ljbffr
